Chipper for Parks!
“Keep close to Nature’s heart and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.”– John Muir
We believe children who are exposed to nature and engage with their natural surroundings develop an appreciation for the environment and empathy for all living creatures. We took to research and found this to be true:
• Engaging with the outdoors is a multi-sensory experience which ignites the intuitive mindset, helping kids be better problem solvers and critical thinkers – naturally!
• Being in the outdoors builds compassion – we could all use a little more of this
• Unstructured play increases physical activity which benefits heart health
Get up and get outside with us. We make it easy with ideas and activities you can let your child lead. Imagine sharing in the classroom an activity that takes students on an adventure around the school, or walk home from school and stop at the park for a game. Take to your state or national park and interview a park ranger.
Our goal is to engage, excite and educate young children and families to become the environmental stewards of tomorrow through meaningful connections with our local, state, and national park systems.
Our Park Program kit delivers a game plan filled with nature exercises, turnkey community service activities, storytime moments and event and fundraising ideas that will help you connect with neighbors and foster community bonds.
